Clearfield Girls Lose 53-11 at Central Mountain

MILL HALL – Playing without its two leading scorers, the Clearfield Area High School girls basketball team had no offensive punch in its third game in as many nights and was beaten 53-11 by host Central Mountain Thursday night.

Ankle injuries kept Breanna Peters and Dakota Farmery out of the Clearfield lineup.

The Lady Bisons, most of whom played in both the junior varsity and varsity games, failed to score in the first quarter and made only five field goals, three by Rachel Thompson.

Clearfield (2-17) finished 0-10 for its first season in the Mountain League’s Allegheny Division.

Rimma Heverly’s 22-point performance sparked the Lady Wildcats, who are 10-9 with a 6-3 division mark. She had four of their six three-pointers.

Sarah Jenson chipped in with 10 for Lock Haven, which led 25-0 after one period and 31-4 at halftime.

The Lady Bisons will play their home finale Saturday against Juniata in a 6:30 p.m. start.

In the junior varsity game, Johnna Ryan scored 13 points to lead Clearfield to a 30-28 win.
