PENFIELD – On Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011 and Friday, February 11, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. each day, there will be open ice skating under the lights at Parker Dam State Park. So bring your skates and come enjoy a winter tradition on the frozen lake.Â
The lights will be on, music playing, and fire crackling for the comfort and enjoyment of visitors. Normally the day-use area of the park closes at dusk, so take advantage of this opportunity. If there is significant snow falling at and during the time of the skating session, the ice skating rink will not be available and the open skating session will be cancelled. The park has many skates of various sizes available for rental at $2.00 per pair for the entire three hours (may not be able to accommodate all visitors- first come, first served).Â
Some skating instruction may also be available, based on staff availability.
