Margaret A. Stonebraker, 90, of Hawk Run, died Saturday at her residence.
Born July 13, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Virost) Soltis. She was a member of the St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Hawk Run, where she was active in the altar and rosary society.
In addition, she was formerly a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Louis, #723, Philipsburg. For several years, she was a member of the Morris Township Election Board and of the Philipsburg V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Stonebraker was employed as a sewing machine operator with the Charles Navasky & Co. for several years.
She married Clair Carlile Stonebraker Oct. 9, 1948, in Winburne. He preceded her in death Jan. 8, 1964. In addition to her parents and husband, she’s preceded in death by one sister, Mary A. Howe and one brother, James J. Soltis.
She’s survived by one daughter, Sharon A. Martin and her husband, Thomas of Hawk Run; four sisters, Josephine Soltis, Delores Sudik and Marcella Hugney and her husband, Marvin, all of Hawk Run; and Annetta Yingling and her husband, William of Philipsburg; and three brothers, John L. Soltis and his wife, Norma and Edward Soltis and his wife, Barbara, all of Hawk Run; and Joseph Soltis and his wife, Ruth of Philipsburg.
Mrs. Stonebraker is also survived by one granddaughter, Christa Martin of New York, NY; one sister-in-law, June Stonebraker Rusnak of Philipsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Hawk Run, with the Rev. Robert Horgas as celebrant. Interment will be at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 East Spruce St., Philipsburg. The rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. and followed by a Christian Vigil Service.
