University Park, Pa. — Redshirt junior setter Edgardo Goas (San Juan, Puerto Rico) has been named the EIVA Tait Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. Goas led the Nittany Lions to two conference victories over the weekend.
Against Saint Francis in a 3-1 win, Goas dished out 43 assists and guided the Nittany Lions to a .361 hitting percentage. He contributed six kills in seven attempts, two aces, six digs and one block.
Goas guided his team to a .316 attack percentage against Springfield the following night. In the 3-0 victory, he posted three kills, one ace, four digs and two blocks against the Pride. For the week, Goas averaged 1.29 kills per set, 10.71 assists per set, 0.43 aces per set, 1.43 digs per set and 0.43 blocks per set.

Penn State is back in action on Friday, Jan. 28 against Loyola, followed by Lewis on Jan. 29. Both matches will take place at Rec Hall at 7 p.m.
