PHILIPSBURG – The Philipsburg Main Street Program’s promotion committee currently has plans under way for its ninth annual Chocolate Fest to be held on Saturday, March 5.
Festivities are open to the public from 12 – 3 p.m. for $3 admission at the community room, second floor at Bock’s Dining and Tea Room, 429 North Centre St. in the historic downtown Philipsburg.
Area residents are asked to bring chocolate items for the public to sample and judge in the “Chocolate Lovers’ Choice” competition. Entries must be divided into at least 200 individual samples.
Judging will be conducted by a “change war.” The winner will be determined by the entry that receives the most coins. Prizes will be presented at 2:45 p.m. and include a $50 cash prize for the Adult category and $25 cash prize in the Youth category sponsored by the Philipsburg Main Street Program.
The entrant must be present to win. Entries will be judged in two divisions: Adult (over 16) and Youth (under 16). Proceeds will benefit the Philipsburg Main Street Program’s downtown revitalization efforts.
Pre-registration for entries is required for those intending to enter. Entries should be delivered between 11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. There is no charge to enter.
