HARRISBURG – A lawsuit was filed against a Philadelphia furniture store that allegedly accepted deposits and full payments from consumers and failed to deliver the items or provide refunds.
Acting Attorney General Bill Ryan identified the store as Home Style Furniture Design LLC., 5615 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia.
Ryan said that Gilbert Musa, the owner and operator of Home Style Furniture Design, allegedly accepted deposits and full payments from consumers toward the purchase of furniture. Musa, who closed the store only a few months after opening, allegedly failed to deliver the furniture or provide refunds to those consumers who had made deposits or payments.
According to the lawsuit, many of Musa’s customers had never been notified that the store closed.
Consumers who may have purchased furniture from Gilbert Musa and Home Style Furniture Design are encouraged to file a complaint with the Attorney General’s Bureau of Consumer Protection at 1-800-441-2555 or online.
The lawsuit was filed in Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas by Deputy Attorney General Sarah A. E. Frasch of the Attorney General’s Bureau of Consumer Protection.
