CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of Jan. 24, 2011. Shaw identified the Fugitive as Jason A. Moore, age 30, of Lanse. Shaw stated that Moore is wanted for failure to appear at Sentencing Court on Dec. 7, 2010.
On Jan. 4, 2010, Officer Jon Walker of the Lawrence Township Police Department, filed a Criminal Complaint charging Moore with: 1) theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received, F3; 2) theft By deception, F3; 3) deceptive or fraudulent business practices, F3; and 4) receiving stolen property, F3.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Walker states that on December 10, 2009, the Lawrence Township Police Received a complaint of theft from a Lawrence Township resident. The alleged victim relayed that he had hired Moore to do excavation and construction work at his residence, and Moore had accepted a payment of $7,000.00 but never completed the work. Upon further investigation, it was also found that Moore had charged over $6,000.00 worth of products from a local business to the alleged victim.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 7, 2010, at which time all charges were held for court. On Dec. 7, 2010, Moore failed to appear for Sentencing Court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
