MORRISDALE — Although the temperatures outside plummeted into the single digits, inside West Branch High School the basketball court was warm and comfortable. Little did anyone know the action for one player would heat up on this night.
Morrisdale — The West Branch Warriors welcomed the Curwensville Golden Tide on Friday night, and it was the play of center Kyle Barrett that was the highlight of the night. Barrett pulled off a double-double on the Warriors as Curwensville defeated West Branch by a final of 48-40.
Barrett ended the night leading all scorers with 23 points, and also accounted for 15 rebounds.
Parker Emigh led West Branch in scoring with 10 points, while Tyler Rothrock added another nine.
Curwensville (3-10) has some time to savor the victory as their next game will be at Ridgway on January 25. Tip off is again set for 6 p.m. with the junior varsity starting off the action. The varsity will follow approximately an hour and a half later.
