CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield YMCA will hold it’s annual Winter-Fest Jan. 29 and 30 at Parker Dam State Park. Saturday’s events consist of: a snowmobile fun run, a blizzard volleyball tournament, ice skating lessons, winter survival techniques, ice fishing basics, and snowshoeing basics. Sunday’s events consist of: ice harvesting, snow box derbies, a presentation about wildlife in winter, cross country skiing lessons, a frozen salami sling, the “almost” naked mile, a snow sculpture contest, and the polar bear swim.
Call the Y at 765-5521 or stop by to sign up for the blizzard volleyball tournament and/or polar bear swim, all other registrations needed for events listed above will take place the day of at the park. A raffle will be drawn on Sunday for prizes of: 1st place- 32” flat screen television, 2nd place- $50 cold cash, and 3rd place-Pittsburgh Steelers blanket.
