- A 28-year-old Philipsburg woman was contacted by email relative to her Avon business. The suspect ordered various cosmetic products and then sent the woman fraudulent money orders to pay for the items. The money orders were for $1,900, while the items totaled $100. Through email, the suspect instructed the woman to cash the money orders, keep what money was owed, and to send back the remaining cash via Western Union. Total losses are about $1,646.
- A vehicle driven by Robert Myers of Madera was traveling south on state Route 53. He was unaware that his bed was in an upright position and it caught on several power lines and guide cables, causing the truck to overturn.
- A 73-year-old woman living in a nursing home had her identification used by a 45-year-old Brisbin woman to obtain a credit card and cell phone services. The crime was detected by an attorney who received notification from a collection company that the victim was deceased, which she is not. The crime was reported to the state police and the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging.
