The state police in Ridgway are investigating a number of burglaries that occurred at numerous camps in Elk County.
The information comes from three separate police reports. In the first, someone broke into a camp between Oct. 30 an Dec. 27 along Gardner Hill Road in Fox Township. The person stole tools and several fishing rods and reels. The loss is estimate at around $1,500.
In the second report, five camps in the Dents Run area of Benezette Township were burglarized. According to police, someone pried open the locks of the camps between Dec. 24 and Dec. 25 and removed tools and and hunting items.
In the last report, police stated that six burglaries occurred along Rasselas Road in Jones Township. Entry was made either by prying open doors or breaking windows to unlock doors. Police said it is not known what items were taken from those camps.
All of the investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the state police in Ridgway.
