CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of December 20, 2010. Shaw identified the Fugitive as Dirk M. Painter, age 20, of Quarry Avenue, DuBois.
Shaw stated that Painter is wanted for failure to appear at criminal call on Sept. 16, 2010.
On March 15, 2010, Officer Randall Young of the DuBois City Police Department, filed a criminal complaint charging Painter with: 1) driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance, M; 2) Possession of a Controlled Substance, 2 Counts, M; 3) corruption of minors, M3; and 4) driver’s required to be licensed, S.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Officer Young states that on Nov. 6, 2009, Painter was observed operating a vehicle on Chestnut Street, DuBois, and at the time it was known that Painter did not possess a valid driver’s license. Upon stopping the vehicle, Young made contact with Painter and detected signs of impairment. Young requested that Painter perform standard field sobriety tests. After administering the field sobriety tests, Painter was transported to the DuBois Regional Medical Center for blood testing. Young also found that the passenger of the vehicle was a female juvenile, and further observed packets of suspected marijuana and two white pills inside the vehicle.
A preliminary hearing was held on April 16, 2010, at which time all charges were held to court. On Sept. 16, 2010, Painter failed to appear at criminal call and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
