FLINTON — The Curwensville Golden Tide basketball squad is still looking for its first win of the 2010 season. After losing at home this past Friday night against Ridgway, the Tide went on the road to face the Glendale Vikings.
But, it was not to be as Glendale triumphed over Curwensville by a final of 64-31.
Tyler Jenny led the Vikings in scoring with 21 points and seven rebounds, including scoring his 1,000th career point on an easy lay-up early in the first quarter. Ty Stackhouse added another 13 points while Michael Wigfield added 11 of his own and three rebounds for Glendale in the victory.
Tanner Elensky had a team-high 10 points for the Tide, while Shelby McGary accounted for six points.
Curwensville (0-4) will try to get its first win of the season Wednesday night as they will host the Moshannon Valley Black Knights. It is their final home game before next week’s KSAC-AML Challenge.
Tip off for Wednesday’s contest is set for 6 p.m. for the junior varsity match-up with the varsity game to immediately follow.
