WORTH TOWNSHIP – State Police in Philipsburg are investigating a fatal accident that occurred Monday at 11:55 a.m. on Interstate 99 at the 63.5 mile marker- North Bound in Worth Township.Â
A 21-year-old woman from Mifflinburg died in the accident.  She was traveling South on I-99 and for an unknown reason, lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a curve in the roadway. She traveled through the median and into the Northbound lane of travel then into the path of a vehicle being driven by a 69-year-old man from Port Matilda.Â
He suffered moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Mt. Nittany Medical Center. The Centre County Coroner, Port Matilda and Alfa Fire Companies, Port Matilda Ambulance, EMT’s from Mt Nittany Medical Center, Penn Dot, and Halfmoon and John Tennis Towing was also dispatched to the scene and assisted police.
