CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive. Shaw identified the fugitive as Raymond W. Bloom, age 29, of State Street, Curwensville. Bloom was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on Nov. 1, 2010.
Shaw stated that on Nov. 29, 2010, Bloom voluntarily surrendered himself to deputies from the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office after remaining on the Fugitive of the Week list for four weeks.
On March 15, 2010, Officer Michael Morris of the Lawrence Township Police Department, filed a criminal complaint charging Bloom with: 1) retail theft, M1; and 2) receiving stolen property, M1.
An affidavit of probable Cause filed by Morris states that on Feb. 14, 2010, the Lawrence Township Police received a report that Bloom had stolen a computer from the Walmart store, located in Lawrence Township. Upon further investigation, Morris interviewed a witness who observed Bloom removing the computer.
A preliminary hearing was held on April 14, 2010, at which time Bloom waived the charges to court. On Sept. 16, 2010, Bloom failed to appear for criminal call and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Shaw reported that Bloom has been lodged in the Clearfield County jail and his case will be placed on the trial list.
