PHILIPSBURG – The state police in Philipsburg are reminding the public to lock the doors to their vehicles, especially over the holiday season.
According to police, this should be done when leaving your car parked for any period of time. This should be done whether your vehicle is in your driveway or a mall parking lot. Locking your vehicle can, and most of the times will, prevent the theft of items from within it.
Police said that additionally, do no leave cell phones, cameras, money, or gifts in plain sight in your vehicle.
According to the report, Philipsburg Borough has seen a rash of thefts in the last month all of the vehicles that items taken from them were unlocked.
