Motorists Reminded of 511PA Service as Travel Information Tool
HARRISBURG – Just in time for Thanksgiving travel, PennDOT is expanding the options for people to receive helpful travel information from its 511PA systems by launching regional Twitter accounts.
“People now get their news from many different sources and offering regional Twitter feeds makes it easier than ever for travelers to quickly access up-to-date information,” said PennDOT Secretary Allen D. Biehler, P.E. “These feeds take the valuable information from our 511 system and provide another way to get travel info to-go.”
PennDOT’s 511PA system automatically feeds the Twitter accounts with information such as incidents, construction notices and weather alerts from more than 2,900 miles of interstates and other major routes statewide.
