CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of Nov. 22, 2010. Shaw identified the Fugitive as Tanya Marie Catalina, age 26, of Krenshaw Road, DuBois.
Shaw stated that Catalina has two pending cases and is wanted for failure to appear at criminal call on Nov. 18, 2010.
On April 8, 2010, Corporal Shawn A. McCleary of the DuBois City Police Department, filed a criminal complaint charging Catalina with: 1) driving under the influence of a controlled substance, M; 2) endangering welfare of children, M1; 3) required financial responsibility, S; 4) reckless driving; and 5) careless driving.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by McCleary states that on December 29, 2009, the DuBois City Police were dispatched to the intersection of South Brady Street and Olive Avenue for the report of a two vehicle crash. Upon arrival McCleary observed two vehicles, a tan 2001 Chrysler sedan and a blue 1999 Ford station wagon, both of which sustained damage.
The driver of the tan 2001 Chrysler sedan was identified as Tanya Marie Catalina. Upon speaking with Catalina, McCleary detected signs of impairment as well as other signs of intoxication. McCleary also noticed that Catalina had two young children in the back seat of her vehicle. After administering field sobriety tests, Catalina was taken into custody and transported for blood testing.
A preliminary hearing was held on May 7, 2010, at which time the charges were held for Court.
In a separate case, Officer Michael P. Davidson of the DuBois City Police Department, filed a criminal complaint on June 28, 2010, charging Catalina with: 1) unsworn falsification to authorities, M2; and 2) ralse reports to law enforcement authorities, M2.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Davidson states that on January 17, 2010, the DuBois City Police were dispatched to the of North Brady Steet and Scribner Avenue for the report of a two-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, it was found that the driver of one of the vehicles, a 2010 Ford rental vehicle, had fled the scene on foot.
While at the scene, Clearfield County Control advised that a complaint of a stolen vehicle had been received. The stolen vehicle was identified as the same 2010 Ford rental vehicle which was located at the scene of the accident. Davidson then responded to the address of the complainant, Tanya Marie Catalina. Catalina advised officers that her rental vehicle had been stolen. Upon further investigation it was found that Catalina had allowed a friend to drive her rental vehicle on the day of the accident.
A preliminary hearing was held on July 20, 2010, at which time the charges were held for Court. On Nov. 18, 2010, Catalina failed to appear for Criminal Call and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
