CLEARFIELD – Courtesy parking was approved by Clearfield Borough Council on Thursday night.
The annual practice by council allows a a person a freebie on their first parking violation during the holiday season. The measure is for a courtesy parking pass in lieu of one parking meter violation. This means that when the meter reader comes around and sees that a parked vehicle is in violation of an expired meter, a courtesy parking pass will be issued. This gives the person extra time to either finish their business downtown or place money in the meter before the meter reader makes another pass.
Courtesy parking will take place in Clearfield Borough from Nov. 26 through Dec. 31.
