DUBOIS – The following information is an update for PennDOT’s Hospital Avenue/Dixon Avenue realignment project in DuBois for the week of Nov. 15.
All work is weather dependent.
The contractor will be sealing the new concrete pavement on South Main Street between Grove Avenue and Hospital Avenue. Be alert for changing traffic patterns. The normal traffic pattern will be restored after the pavement has dried. New traffic patterns are in place on South Main Street Extension near the Dixon Avenue/Hospital Avenue intersection. The contractor will continue to excavate for and place concrete pavement in this area. Be alert for changing traffic patterns. The contractor will install pavement markings throughout the project. Motorists are advised to watch for slow moving and stopped vehicles through the entire work zone.
The overall project re-aligns Hospital Avenue with Dixon Avenue. Work includes roadway widening, new traffic signals, and improved access to DRMC. The job is scheduled to run through November of this year. SET, Inc. of Lowellville, Ohio, is the contractor on the $4.2 million project.
