Elaine M. Bassetti 84, of Curwensville passed away Oct. 22, 2010 at the Clearfield Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 16, 1925 in Brownstown, PA she was the Daughter of George and Ella Mae (Lindemuth) McKay. She had worked for the Brockway Glass and was a school bus driver for the Brockway School District. She was a member of the St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville.  Â
On Sept. 12, 1942 in Brockway she wed Alfred V. Bassetti who preceded her in death on March 30, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother Harry McKay, sisters Katherine Holt, and Mayme McWilliams. And a great grandson Jacob John Overdorf.
She was the last member of her generation.Â
Surviving are 5 children Marlene Poe and her husband Bobby of Edgewater, MD, Alan Bassetti and his wife Jane of Medina, OH, Lynn Watson and her husband Scott , and Blaine Bassetti all of Dubois, and Tarri Kalgren and her husband Scott of Curwensville. 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church on Oct. 26 at 11 a.m. with Father Mark Mastrian as celebrant. Interment will be held in St. Tobias Cemetery in Brockway.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc of Curwensville on Oct. 25 from 6-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. till 10:30 a.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Clearfield Area Agency on Aging 103 N. Front Street Clearfield, PA 16830.Â
