LOCK HAVEN – On Monday, Nov. 1 Lock Haven University will host nationally renowned motivational speaker, Andres Lara. The presentation will be held at 7 p.m. in the Multiple Purpose Room of the Parsons Union Building. The event is free and open to the public.
At 16, Lara escaped from Cuba and when he arrived to the United States, he did not speak a word of English, he was without his parents, without any money, and for some time was homeless. By the age of 26, Lara was a millionaire and chief executive officer of A. Success Training.
Lara, who is former president of Inspiration Magazine, tells his story to audiences around the country, hoping to inspire them by sharing his story and the keys to what he believes helped him to succeed in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds and countless challenges.
Lara is the author of “Inspire the Sleeping Giant Within,” an internationally recognized book published in the United States, Korea, and Africa. He also wrote, “How to Stay Motivated During Difficult Times.”
Andres graduated with honors from Montclair State University with a major in Speech Communication and a minor in creative writing. He is the author of several international-selling books including “Inspire the Sleeping Giant Within” which is published in Korea, Africa, and USA; “How To Stay Motivated During Difficult Times” and “The Finish Line”.
His messages reach millions every week in 33 countries around the globe through his site at http://www.TheCubanGuy.com. According to Kenneth Hall, director of Human and Cultural Diversity, “what inspires his audiences the most is all that he has accomplished by the age of 24.”
