CLEARFIELD – A hearing was held on Friday for a state trooper accused of tampering with a mobile video recorder in another trooper’s vehicle.
Ryan Henschel, 32 of Philipsburg, faces charges of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, tampering with public records or information, obstructing administration of law or other governmental function and hindering apprehension or prosecution. All charges are misdemeanors.
The hearing lasted for over three hours and heard testimony from Cpl. Svin Donaldson and Tpr. Chris Pifer. Henschel is accused of taking Pifer, who was off-duty and involved in an accident, to a convencience store so Pifer could purchase agents to mask alcohol on his breath. Henschel is also accused of shutting off Donaldson’s MVR prior to Donaldson performing a field sobriety test on Pifer.
All charges were bound over to the Court of Common Pleas.
