– Police reported an incident of receiving stolen property at 12:23 a.m. Thursday on Interstate 99 at mile marker 68 in Patton Township, Centre County. Troopers initiated a traffic stop on a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee for an alleged speeding violation.
During the traffic stop, troopers conducted a registration check for the vehicle. As a result, they discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen from Altoona hours prior to the incident. A 32-year-old Tyrone man was subsequently taken into custody; he told troopers that he took the vehicle from a restaurant parking lot in Altoona.
Troopers also indicated that the accused had outstanding warrants for drug offenses in Blair County. He was taken to the Centre County Prison; he is being charged with receiving stolen property.
– Police reported an incident of harassment at 11 p.m. Wednesday on East Oak Street in Port Matilda, Centre County. A Port Matilda female was cited for harassment for allegedly shoving another Port Matilda female to the ground while arguing. Charges were filed through the district court in Philipsburg.
– Police reported an incident of theft from a motor vehicle that occurred sometime between 11 p.m. and 10 a.m. Wednesday on Phoenix Road in Rush Township, Centre County. A person(s) allegedly entered and rummaged through two vehicles and removed various items. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Philipsburg State Police at 814-342-3370.
