CLEARFIELD — The Clearfield Bison junior varsity football team remained undefeated at 7-0 after whitewashing visiting Lewistown on Monday evening, 27-0.
Sophomore quarterback Tyler Woomer led the squad by tossing four touchdown passes on the night.
The Bisons scored on their opening drive of the night. Ryan Hogue’s long dash down the sideline set up the first score, a 13-yard touchdown pass to Trey Jordan. Coleman Kubala booted the first of his three extra points to set the score at 7-0.
That would be all the scoring that Clearfield would need as Lewsitown never threatened the Bison goal line all night.
In the second quarter Woomer hit Hogue with a 12-yard touchdown pass and Shawn Lord with a 26-yard touchdown pass to set the halftime score at 21-0.
The third quarter saw Woomer team up with Jordan once again; this time a 34-yard strike that finished the scoring at 27-0.
Steve Smith had a fumble recovery and Seth Beardsley had an interception in the second half to help secure the shutout.
The Bisons will try to put the finishing touches on an undefeated season when they host Juniata Monday October 25 at 6:00 PM.
