Frederick W. Burns II, 46, of Philipsburg died as a result of motor vehicle accident on state Route 53 Friday in Osceola Mills.
Born on Nov. 25, 1963, he was the son of Dan and Carol Beahan of Spring Valley and Frederick and Roberta Bums of Philipsburg. He was a member of trinity United Methodist Church, Philipsburg and of the Sandy Ridge Sportsmen’s Club.
Mr. Burns was a 1981 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School. He was also a 1986 graduate of Penn State. Prior to his death, he was serving as the events coordinator for Rec Hall at Penn State.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, George S. Sr. and Gladys (Laughlin) Test; his paternal grandfather, Joseph Raymond Bums; and his uncle, George S. Test Jr.
Mr. Burns was survived by two sons, Frederick W. Bums, III of Philipsburg and Todd A. Orndorf of Bellefonte; one daughter, Kacie L. Burns of Bellefonte; one sister, Dana Bums Myers and her husband, David J of Grassflat; one brother, Gregory A. Burns and his wife, Robin A. of Philipsburg.
He is survived by two step-sisters, Amber Lipson and her husband, Alan of Cary, NC and Erin McGary and her husband, Roger of Clearfield. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Daisy Elaine (Amold) Burns of Philipsburg and 10 nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Thomas of Canterbury Anglican Church, Philipsburg with the Rev. Roger lr4cGary, brother-in-law to Mr. Bums, officiating. Interment will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg.
