On Oct. 9, police were dispatched for a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of East DuBois Avenue and Division Street. Officers indicated that a collision occurred between a 1991 Chevrolet S-10 operated by a Penfield woman and a 1997 Mercury Sable driven by a DuBois man. Both were transported by ambulance for medical treatment.
On Oct. 9, police reported a domestic dispute in the 200 block of South Brady Street. Officers found that the altercation was verbal only. No arrests were made.
On Oct. 10, police were dispatched to Delta Tire on DuBois Street for an alarm. Officers found the building to be secure.
Police were called to the 300 block of DuBois Street on Monday for a reported male who was passed out on the roadway. At arrival, officers located a 29-year-old DuBois man who was then transported to the DuBois Regional Medical Center – West due to his alleged high level of intoxication. He was cited for public drunkenness.
On Tuesday, police responded to a drive-by shooting that occurred in the 500 block of Wood Street. Officers said witnesses reportedly observed a male who was operating a white sports utility vehicle fire several rounds at a residence. The vehicle then fled the scene and couldn’t be located by police. The Sandy Township Police assisted at the scene. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
On Tuesday, police were dispatched to the intersection of DuBois Avenue and DuBois Street for a reported two-vehicle accident. Officers found that a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse and a 1997 Honda Accord had been involved in the accident. No injuries were reported.
Police were dispatched to the 400 block of South State Street for a burglary, which at that time was not in progress. Officers found that a person(s) had forced entry into a resident and allegedly removed $4,200 worth of cash and personal affects.
On Tuesday, police responded to an assault in the 100 block of South Brady Street. Officers said a DuBois man answered his apartment door and was reportedly pushed back inside by three men who were wearing ski masks. The victim told police that he was assaulted for several minutes until his girlfriend came home. When the victim’s girlfriend went to enter the apartment, the three men reportedly pushed her down, as they ran out. The victim was flown to Altoona Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the assault. Police were assisted by the Sandy Township Police Department.
On Tuesday, police apprehended a 25-year-old DuBois man in an apartment in the 200 block of West Long Avenue. After receiving a tip from an anonymous caller, officers located the man who was reportedly hiding in a bathroom at the apartment. The man had warrants through the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Department, Magisterial District Judge Patrick Ford’s office and the state’s Board of Probation and Parole. He is currently in the Clearfield County Jail. Police were assisted by the Sandy Township Police Department.
