Kenneth D. Bookamire, 73, of Osceola Mills died Thursday at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born on May 11, 1937 in Osceola Mills, he was the son of the late George and Edith (Stevens) Bookamire. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Osceola Mills.
Mr. Bookamire was a graduate of the former Houtzdale-Woodward-Brisbin High School in the class of 1955. He was retired from Berg Electronics, Clearfield.
He married Barbara H. (Mital) Bookamire, whom survives him, on Feb. 15, 1958. He is also survived by three sons, Richard Bookamire and his companion, Angie Reeder of Philipsburg; Kevin Bookamire and his companion, Lisa Bickle of Coburn; and Douglas Bookamire of Camp Hill and one daughter, Marcia Demchak and her husband, Daniel of Philipsburg. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bookamire is preceded in death by two sisters, Phillis Shinafelt and Donna Grubbs and two brothers, Gerald R. and Robert W. Bookamire.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Osceola Mills, with the Rev. Robert Horgas as celebrant. Interment will be at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
