ALLPORT – A State College man was charged with resisting arrest after an incident that occurred on Saturday.
According to the state police in Philipsburg, officers went to a house along the Morrisdale-Allport Highway to interview a suspect in a credit card theft case. When troopers went to interview the suspect, he reportedly lied about his identity and then attempted to go inside a house. Troopers recognized him, however, and went to make the arrest. He attempted to slam the door, but troopers were able to prevent him from closing it.
With the assistance of another person, the State College man was able to run to the second floor and jump from a window. Troopers searched the area and were unable to locate the State College man. A few hours later troopers learned that he had returned to the Allport address. Troopers arrived and surrounded the house. The man was located in a second floor bedroom hiding under a pile of clothes.
He was taken into custody and placed in Centre County Jail.
Troopers from the Clearfield barracks assisted at the scene.
