CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Center for Active Living, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Black Lung Coalition, is offering a free health screening from 1 – 3 p.m. Wednesday at the center, which is located on 103 North Front St., Clearfield. Â
The coalition is a grant-funded, non-profit organization dedicated to helping those with lung disease obtain proper treatment. In addition, it can help coal miners and others with occupational lung disease to file for benefits from the Department of Labor.Â
Screenings will include blood oxygen level check, spirometry (breathing) test and blood pressure readings. Test results can be sent to participants’ doctors. If that is desired by any participant, the appropriate contact information should be brought to the screening.
Those wishing other information may contact the Clearfield Center for Active Living at 765-9319 or 800-225-8571, any time between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Those interested in having lunch at the center prior to the program are asked to call the day before the event to make a meal reservation.Â
Any Clearfield County resident 60 years of age or older may contribute to the cost of the meal on a donation basis. The cost to those under age 60 is $3.
