Police reported an incident of theft by unlawful taking that occurred sometime between 7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday in Taylor Township, Centre County. A person(s) entered a parking area near a Beckwith Drive residence. Once there, they reportedly stole a Tyrone resident’s 1999 Chevrolet Blazer, which is tan in color. Troopers indicated that the doors were not locked with the keys in the ignition. The investigating is ongoing at this time.
Police located a 53-year-old Karen Susan Crust of Julian who was reported missing at 6 a.m. Friday. In the initial incident report, troopers said she was last seen by her husband at their residence at the previously said time. Troopers didn’t indicate where the woman was located in their report.
Police reported a one-vehicle accident along Beaver Road, near Steele Hollow Road, at 10:50 a.m. Thursday in Huston Township, Centre County. Jamie F. Gill, 18, of Port Matilda was traveling east on Beaver Road. For unknown reasons, she lost control of her 2008 Chevrolet HHR and exited the roadway on the right side. Her vehicle then struck a guiderail with its right side before spinning back across the roadway, where it struck an embankment. Her vehicle came to a final rest in the middle of the road. Gill and her passengers Brittany A. Hamilton, 18, of Bellefonte and Kayla A. Weaver, 18, of State College were wearing their safety belts at the time of the mishap. No injuries were reported.
Police reported theft from a motor vehicle that occurred sometime between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday in Philipsburg Borough, Centre County. A 44-year-old Osceola Mills woman parked her 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, which is gold in color, at the Weis Market parking lot. While she was inside shopping, someone reportedly removed a black, canvas bag from the front seat. Troopers indicated the bag contained a “RS-Tens Plus” electric nerve stimulator, which the victim needs for a medical condition. The bag has the logo “RS Medical” in white letters on the front of it. Police reported a driving under the influence accident at 2:30 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Eighth and Spruce Streets in Philipsburg Borough, Centre County. A 23-year-old Philipsburg man was traveling north on Eighth Street, when he lost control of his 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt. He had attempted to negotiate a left turn and traveled off the roadway. His vehicle continued to travel until it struck a shrub and tree stump, where it came to its final rest. He was found to be intoxicated and placed under arrest for DUI. He was transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center for a blood test. No injuries were reported; the accident is still under investigation. Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Hope and Reliance Fire Companies. Charges are to be filed though the district court for DUI and various summary violations.
