CLEARFIELD – After Clearfield Borough recently paid $12,000 to have a traffic light fixed, the Lawrence Township Supervisors decided to purchase insurance covering their 19 traffic lights.
The insurance is carried through Boyles Insurance and will cost $795 annually with a $1,000 deductible.
Supervisor Ed Brown said that the parts and pieces are very expensive and the insurance would be well worth it. The supervisors agreed that they would purchase the policy for the remainder of the year, especially since it is lightning season, but would look further into the full extent to which it would cover the lights. If the policy was fully comprehensive they would look at continuing coverage in January when their policy would need to be renewed.
