BELLEFONTE – PennDOT District 2 will place a radar-controlled speed display sign along Route 3006 between Bellefonte Borough and Spring Township. The sign will be located on state Route 3006 (Upper Coleville Road) eastbound, just east of the Spring Township line. The sign is being placed Aug. 12, at the request of local residents.
The speed display sign will remain on location for about four weeks and will register the speeds of vehicles traveling along that section of Route 3006. In this area, the speed limit is posted at 25 miles per hour.Â
The speed display sign uses radar to determine the speeds of oncoming traffic. Those vehicle speeds are then posted on the lighted section of the sign. Above the speed display is a speed limit sign showing the posted speed limit for that section of SR 3006.Â
PennDOT reminds motorists they can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions before heading out.
