CLEARFIELD – The Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library is excited to present local author and mother Jaime Sewell as she reads her book When Mommy Went on Strike on Aug. 21 at 10:30 a.m. All who attend the event will participate in an activity afterwards and receive a free bookmark. In addition, Sewell will have order forms on hand for anyone interested in purchasing a copy of the book, and a portion of the proceeds from the book order will be donated to the Shaw Public Library. Light refreshments will be provided during the event.
According to the author description of the book, When Mommy Went on Strike is a story of one mother’s determination to change the behavior and habits of her children. When all else fails she decides to go on strike. Soon the house becomes a disaster and nothing is getting done. Everyone in the family wants mom back in action.  The story teaches children the value of teamwork and taking responsibility. It is easy for children to understand and fun for the whole family to read.
Sewell resides in St. Marys and is the mother of four children. The idea behind her story When Mommy Went on Strike came from her life as a busy mom. In addition to spending time with her family, Sewell enjoys a variety of activities, including reading, writing, crafting, and traveling.
