CLEARFIELD – CNB Bank 2011 wall calendars will feature local photos of western Pennsylvania. Local residents, whether they are beginner, amateur or professional photographers, are encouraged to submit one or two of their digital photos via the web site at www.bankcnb.com. Photos will be received up until the date of judging, Aug. 15.
On Aug. 15, twelve winners will be announced and the photo selections will then be forwarded to be laid out and printed in the Bank’s 2011 wall calendars, which will be distributed to 15,000 customers beginning in November.
The winner’s will be selected by photographer, Kevin M. Mills, who provided the entire collection of Pennsylvania photographs featured in the Bank’s 2010 wall calendar. Mr. Mills will also select one ‘Best of Show’ to be featured on the front cover. Mills started taking photographs and processing film at age 12 and never quit. Upon graduation from high school, he began teaching photography classes and learned the intricacies under the tutelage of a professional photographer in Colorado. He currently teaches photography at the Huntingdon Vo-Tech School and prefers to photograph nature, still life, portraiture, architecture and weddings.
CNB initiated this contest to provide an avenue to feature local talent and the communities in which the Bank serves through the eyes of residents as they’ve captured with their camera.
“When we decided to feature Pennsylvania scenery in our 2010 wall calendar late last year, one of our employees suggested that we feature local photographs such as we see at the county fair,” Joe Bower, President & CEO of CNB Bank went on to say, “We all agreed that was an excellent idea and started planning this contest last fall. I’m anxious to see the entries and winning selections. We’ve had a great turnout already.”
