Margaret Ann Carlo Rebon, 87, of Curwensville, passed away on July 29, 2010 at the home of her daughter after a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 20, 1922 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of Angelo and Giacinta (Barone) Carlo. She had been employed by the former MacGregor Sportswear of Curwensville, and later by the former Kent’s Sportswear of Curwensville. She also had worked for her daughter at the former Cindy’s Gift Shop.
Mrs. Rebon is a member of St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union – Curwensville Local. She was a nurturing and devoted mother who encouraged education, enjoyed reading, and making fudge.
On Aug. 23, 1947 in Curwensville, she wed Albert Rebon who preceded her in death on June 8, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers Pasquale, Roy, and Tucci Carlo and a sister Mary Vadala. She was the last member of her generation.
Surviving are 2 children: a daughter Cindy Rebon of Curwensville and a son Mark Rebon of Macungie as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church, Curwensville, on Aug. 2 at 10 a.m. with Reverend Msgr. Henry Krebs as celebrant. Interment will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Aug. 1 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 to 9:30 a.m. , when the procession will depart for church.
Members of St. Timothy’s Altar and Rosary Society will recite the Rosary on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. followed by a Scripture Vigil Service to be conducted at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, both at the funeral home.
