CLEARFIELD – Work on the Upper Witmer Park playground equipment may soon be complete. Steve Biancuzzo reported at Thursday night’s Clearfield Borough Council committees meeting that the work on the playground at Upper Witmer Park should be complete next week.
Borough Operations Manager Leslie Stott said that there will be three tractor trailer loads of mulch delivered next week to be placed around the play area, which will give it a 12 inch deep ground cover. The borough received a grant from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources in order to cover some of the mulch expense.
Biancuzzo said the parking lot next to the park would be closed Monday and Tuesday in order to get the mulch into the park. Due to the layout of the park’s equipment and trees, the tractor trailers are unable to back into the park. The mulch will be transported by Bobcats and other equipment in order to move it from the trailers to the park.
Biancuzzo said once the playground equipment is completely put together it will be inspected, all of which he believes will take place next week.
