Jack Richard Furlong, age 76, of Ramey passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the Hollidaysburg Veteran’s Home.
Born July 31, 1933 in Kittanning, PA, he was the son of the late Paul E. and June L. Furlong.
He was a 1951 graduate of Kittanning High School and attended Clarion State University for two years. He was a graduate of Ross L. Leffler School of Conservation in Brockway and retired from the Pennsylvania Game Commission where he was a District Game Protector for Southern Clearfield County for twenty-nine years.
He was also a veteran of the US Marines, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Bald Eagle F.O.P. Lodge #51, life member of the Wild Turkey Federation, life member of the NRA, and a life member of the Conservation Officers Protective Association.
He is survived by a son and a daughter, Roger L. Furlong and his wife Nancy of Mansfield, PA and Teri S. Staley and her husband Mike of Apopka, FL; a brother Charles Furlong and his wife Chris and two grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, R. Mark Furlong.
At Mr. Furlong’s request there will be no public visitation and a private family graveside service will be held at the Beulah Cemetery, Ramey.
