Geraldine I. “Gerri” (Martin) Shedlock, 86, of Fernwood, passed away at 7:25 a.m. on July 2, 2010 at Mt. Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
Mrs. Shedlock was born on May, 15, 1924 in Ginter a daughter of the late George R. and Mabel (Ream) Martin.
On Dec. 14, 1944 in Tyrone she married Edward M. Shedlock, Sr who preceded her in death on June 22, 2008.
In the early 1960’s, Mrs. Shedlock worked as an Accounts Maintenance Clerk for the Corps of Engineers in Anchorage, AK. She later received her Real Estate License in Alaska and was an agent for a number of years. From 1970 – 1973, Mrs. Shedlock was secretary to the Chief of Surgery at the Alaskan Native Hospital, Anchorage. After returning to Pennsylvania, she was the owner and operator of the former Morroni Floral Shop, Smithmill, from 1980-1985. She also was a former Gulich Twp. Secretary/Treasurer.
Mrs. Shedlock is survived by two sons; Edward M. Shedlock, Jr and his wife Teresa of Anchorage, AK. and Eugene M. Shedlock of Fernwood. She is also survived by 6 grandsons, Brent, Brandon, Slade, Zallman, Hunter and Jerzy; 2 step grandsons, Billy and Brent; 2 great grandchildren, Kevin and Sydney; and step great grandchildren, Seth, Tanner, Nathaniel, Benjamin, Autumn and Connor. Mrs. Shedlock is survived by four brothers and a sister; Robert D. Martin of Clearfield, Millard W. Martin of Niles, OH, Leonard C. Martin of Houtzdale, Kenneth C. Martin of Madera. and Carol F. Bratton and her husband Harold “Dewey” of Houtzdale. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Shedlock was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter G. Martin, Gerald B. Martin, Larry G. Martin and Norman R. Martin.
Friends will be received on July 6 form 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and on July 7 from 9-11 a.m. at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc. Ramey.
