CLEARFIELD – Central PA Community Action’s affiliate corporation, Central PA Development Corporation (CPDC) is developing a Section 202 project targeted for Senior Housing funded by Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for. The 12 unit building, Leonard Court is being constructed behind Clearfield Multi-Service center on Leonard Street in Lawrence Township, Clearfield.
The Section 202 program helps expand the supply of affordable housing with supportive services for the elderly or physically disabled. It provides very low-income elderly with options that allow them to live independently but in an environment that provides support activities such as cleaning, cooking, transportation, etc.
Each 540 square foot unit is comprised of a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, living room, and adequate closet space. Two units are fully handi-cap accessible. The building also has a community room, activities room, washers and dryers, indoor mailboxes, secure doors, and air conditioning.
Leonard Court Apartments is open to any very low-income household comprised of at least one person who is at least 62 years old at the time of initial occupancy. Income guidelines for the project are $18,950 annually for one person and $21,650 annually for 2 people.
