CLEARFIELD – Little League All-Stars from Clearfield and Curwensville will be among six teams vying for the Pennsylvania District 5 Northern Tier 11-and-12-Year-Old championship.

The double-elimination tournament gets under way Friday with Clearfield hosting Four-Leaf Clover at McNamee Field and Tri-County entertaining Mountain Top.

First-round byes went to Curwensville and Philipsburg-Osceola.

Both teams will go on the road for their first games Sunday, Curwensville drawing the Four-Leaf Clover-Clearfield winner and Philipsburg-Osceola getting the Mountain Top-Tri-County victor.

All games will start at 6 p.m.

The Northern Tier champion will meet the Southern Tier titlist in a best-of-three series beginning July 8 or, if one or both have been beaten, July 9.
Â
The Southern Tier hopefuls are Bellefonte, Marion Walker, State College American, State College National, Pleasant Gap, Penns Valley, Big Valley and Mifflin County.

The District 5 champion will advance to the Pennsylvania Section 4 Tournament at Indiana July 16 through 19.
