Clinton Grant Pearce, Sr, 85, of Lorain, OH passed away June 14, 2010 at 12:15 a.m. at his residence.
He was born Aug. 22, 1924 in Rossiter, PA a son of Ezra “Tim” and Jenny (Howard) Pearce. Mr. Pearce attended grade school in Emeigh, PA and was a 1942 graduate of the Cherry Tree High School.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. having served in the Pacific Theater during WW II.
Mr. Pearce was employed for 30 years at American Greetings Corp., Cleveland, OH where he reached the level of Executive Director before retiring in 1987.
He married his second wife, Marlene Robeson Pearce, formerly of Beccaria, in 1983. She survives in Lorain. He is also survived by a son, Clinton G. Pearce, Jr and his wife Beverly; three grandchildren, Anthony, Grant and Abby.
Fours sisters and three brothers survive; Ethel Bowser and her husband John, Dorothy Bartholomew, Janet Herr, Vivian Yingling and her husband Ken, Robert Pearce and his wife Carol, Wallace Pearce and his wife Barbara and Arthur Pearce and his wife Dorothy. A number of nieces and nephew also survive.
Along with his parents, Mr. Pearce was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Brown Pearce; a sister, Marian Westover and a brother Ezra “Tim” Pearce, Jr.
Funeral Services will be held on June 17 at 7:00 p.m. at the Miscenik Funeral Home, Avon, OH.
Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held on June 18, at 3:00 p.m. in the Utahville Cemetery, Beccaria Twp. The Kruise Funeral Home, Inc, Ramey is in charge of the local arrangements. Condolences may be sent to: condolences@kruisefuneralhome.com.
