CURWENSVILLE – Curwensville Borough Council received good news regarding their finances on Monday night. After being in financial distress in recent years, council learned through its audit that its cash is coming back.
“Things went a lot smoother this year,” said Erik Elensky of Walter Hopkins and Company.
Elensky said the only debt facing the borough is that of the firetrucks.
“It’s been a good year, this year,” added Elensky.
Council President Mark Curulla stated that council should be out of debt this year. He also thanked council members for riding out the tough times.
“I know it’s been rough,” said Curulla.
Curulla said their may be a chance that they can bring on one or two part-time police officers next year.
