FALLENTIMBER – According to Penelec, 715 customers were without power for about eight hours Sunday as a result of animal contact at the Fallentimber Substation.Â
According to Penelec Area Manager John Shimko, the outage began around 7:40 a.m. when a raccoon got into the substation and contacted electrical equipment. Two circuits were affected, including customers in Blandburg, Glasgow, Frugality and Prince Gallitzin State Park.
Penelec line crews discovered the problem inside the substation. Electrical Equipment crews were called in to replace the damaged equipment. All customers were restored by 3:20 p.m.
