CLEARFIELD – State Route 1005 (Forest Avenue) in Marion and Walker Townships, Centre County will be closed temporarily, starting June 7. The road will be closed between Interstate 80 and SR 64. The closure is necessary for utility work, followed by replacement of a box culvert. The utility work will be done by Verizon and Allegheny Power and will take place during daylight hours the week of June 7.
School buses will be accommodated as necessary during the utility work. PennDOT Centre County Maintenance crews will then work the week of June 14 to replace the box culvert. Drivers will need to use alternate routes while Route 1005 is closed. Signage is in place to alert drivers to the closure. All work is weather dependent.
