STATE COLLEGE – Calling small business the backbone of the nation’s economy, President Barack Obama has proclaimed the week of May 23-29 as “National Small Business Week.”
The Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County, the largest organization representing businesses in Centre County, recognizes the special impact made by small businesses to the strength of the local economy. Jean Gerber, Vice President of Chamber Operations, noted that 52% of the CBICC’s membership is comprised of businesses with 10 or fewer employees.
In recognition of National Small Business Week, the Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County is making it more affordable than ever to become a member of the CBICC. Any business that joins by June 30, 2010, will have the one-time $40 administration fee waived. The CBICC offers its members an array of benefits, including networking events, educational programs, and member-only savings opportunities, which are designed to provide the resources to help businesses grow and succeed.
