Blanche M. “Billy” Thurston, 91 of Clearfield, passed away May 24, 2010 at Marion Manor in Curwensville, PA.
Born on Nov. 23, 1918 in Grampian, she was the daughter of Claude P. and Mayme (Kirk) Freeman.
Mrs. Thurston had been employed by Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for 26 years as a certified nurses aide.
She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church for nearly 70 years.
Mrs. Thurston is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by a sister in-law, Anna Freeman of Clearfield and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Thurston is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Nial A. Thurston, whom she married on Nov. 28, 1938 and who passed away on July 12, 1976.
Funeral services will be held on May 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 1010 Dorey Street, Clearfield, PA with Rev. Virginia Eminhizer officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde, PA.
Friends will be received at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., 312 E. Locust Street, Clearfield, PA on May, 27 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services.
