CLEARFIELD – As part of the American Cancer Society’s ‘Relay for Life’ a friendly competition between towns in Clearfield County. Purple is a color of inspiration for the ACS, and the competition involved businesses, organizations and residents in each town decorating their properties purple.
This year the traveling trophy was awarded to Clearfield. That announcement came Thursday during Clearfield Borough Council’s regular meeting from Mayor Jim Schell. The mayor expressed his gratitude to Clearfield for their efforts in the campaign.
“It was purple everywhere,” said Schell.
He noted that his counterpart in Curwensville, Mayor Holly Komonczi, was pleased with her town’s effort as well. He also noted that Clearfield residents should expect Curwensville to bounce back next year.
