Mike R. “Meatball” Call 76, of Curwensville passed away May 16, 2010 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 23, 1934 in Curwensville, he was the son of John and Catherine (Rumfola) Call. Mr. Call had worked for the Curwensville Boro and retired after 45 years of service. He was Roman Catholic by faith, was a lifetime member of the Rescue Hose and Ladder Co. in Curwensville, was a member of the Curwensville L.O.O.M., was a member of the Curwensville American Legion, the Curwensville VFW, and the former Curwensville S.O.I.
In June of 1960, he wed the former Ruby Jane Robbins, who survives along with 2 children: Michael J. Call and his wife Mary Elizabeth of Hyde and a son that they raised Philip Harrison Robbins of Curwensville. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren Courtney Rochelle Patterson, Emily Corene Brown, and Abigal Riley Robbins, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters Margaret Call, Rose Brown, and Louise Bebe. He was the last member of his generation.
There will be no public visitation. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery Curwensville
