Josephine Kassab Libreatori, 90 of Woodland, PA, passed away May 14, 2010 at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born on March 1, 1920 in Houtzdale, PA, she was the daughter of George and Mary (Rackovan) Kassab.
Mrs. Libreatori was homemaker. She was also employed at the Woodland school, serving lunch there for many years. Prior to that she had been employed at the General Cigar Factory in Philipsburg, PA.
Mrs. Libreatori was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Clearfield, where she had served as a church greeter and she was a member of the Rosary and Altar Society.
She had served as the social director for the Woodland Senior Citizens, where she had been active in the organization for many years.
Mrs. Libreatori is survived by two sons and a daughter: Donald A. Libreatori and his wife Betty of Woodland, Irene M. Rubadue of Woodland, and Victor G. Libreatori and his wife Nancy of Clearfield; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three brothers: John Kassab and his wife Nita of Mobile, AL, James Kassab and his wife Edith of Mobile, AL, and Louis Kassab and his wife Dolores of Morrisdale; four sisters in-law: Mary Kassab of Philipsburg, Catherine Kassab of Chesapeake Bay, VA, Ann Kassab of Clearfield, and Mona Jeanne Kassab of Clearfield. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Victor M. Libreatori, whom she married on April 10, 1936 and who died on April 5, 1983; two grandsons: Robert Libreatori and D. Paul Rubadue; five brothers: Francis, William, Raymond, G. Edward and Lee Kassab.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on May 18 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Clearfield with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee officiating. Interment will follow in the Bradford Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., on May 17 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00-9:30 a.m.
A Christian vigil service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 3:45 PM.
